Read on to find out the top ten actors that should be brought into the shared TV universe of Arrow. Back in 2012 Arrow premiered. Two years later it brought in its first spin-off The Flash and established a shared television universe of superheroes. Since 2014 Arrow and the other shows have done a big crossover mini-series which brings them all together.

This year the big cross-over event in 2018 is "Crisis on Infinite Earths". The plot involved Oliver, Barry and the rest of the superheroes traveling to alternate dimensions and encountering different versions of the heroes. Some of those alternate universes have actually been previous incarnations of the characters in other television shows.

All this was alluded to in the Flash "Elseworlds" episode when they established the 1990s television show is an alternate dimension to Barry. Actor John Wesley Shipp reprised his role and wore his costume from the old show. Now it's been expanded.

Several actors from previous movies and TV shows have been cast to reprise their roles. Brandon Routh is playing an alternate Clark Kent/Superman after playing him in Superman Returns. Kevin Conroy, who played the voice of Batman in the 1990s animated series and numerous movies is playing Bruce Wayne/Batman. Tom Welling and Erica Durance are reprising their roles as Superman and Lois Lane respectively.

This opens many possibilities. What if every single movie and TV show of DC superheroes exist in the Arrowverse? What if any actor that's played a role can return? Who would you bring back? Here are my top actors and actresses.

1. Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor

First Appearance in Smallville

Actor Michael Rosenbaum played the childhood friend and villain Lex Luthor in several seasons of Smallville. The Arrowverse already has two of the actors on the show and it would be amazing to add another.

When I ranked the live-action Lex Luthor actors he's near the top of the list. It would be amazing to watch him scheming with the Supergirl counterpart played by Jon Cryer who I think is one of the best we've had. Rosenbaum gave Lex a cruel, yet sympathetic performance that still resonates with fans.

There were recently rumors he's been cast (which he denied) but it's not official. Hopefully soon.

Update: CW reached out to Rosenbaum and he turned them down saying "Friends, many of you have tweeted and asked me about joining the Infinite Crossover. I can't tell you how much this means to me. I'll just be straight up about this. WB called my agents Friday afternoon when I was in Florida visiting my grandfather in a nursing home. Their offer: No Script. No idea what I'm doing. No idea when I'm shooting. Basically no money. And the real kick in the a-- 'We have to know now.' My simple answer was 'Pass'. I think you can understand why. I hope this answers all of your questions. Lovingly, Rosenbaum"

Hopefully, he'll eventually say "yes".

2. Marc McClure as Jimmy Olsen

First Appearance in Superman: The Movie

Back in 1976, Marc McClure played the Daily Planet's intrepid newspaper reporter Jimmy Olsen. At 62 years old McClure still acts sporadically. In 2017 he did a guest spot on the short-lived NBC series Powerless. It would be great to see him back in his bowtie as an older, more seasoned Jimmy Olsen.

It would be a real mind-blowing considering the current Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) is black.

3. Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale

First Appearance in Batman

Kim Basinger played the investigative reporter and photographer Vicki Vale in Batman. The 65-year old actress is still active and recently appeared in the Fifty Shades Darker (2017) and Fifty Shades Freed (2018).

Vicki Vale is a pretty obscure character outside the movie and some comic book appearances so it would be an amazing callback to see her return as an older and wiser reporter. Plus they could give an explanation of why she was missing in Batman Returns.

4. Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman

First Appearance in Wonder Woman

While the movies starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman are amazing one woman started it all. Back in the 1970s, Lynda Carter played Diana Prince in the Wonder Woman series. She has grace and poise and set the tone for the character for generations.

The 76-year old actress still looks amazing and has the same regal poise. She has a recurring role on Supergirl as U.S. President Olivia Marsdin. But could easily play an alternate dimensional version like Brandon Routh, who plays a dual role in the Arrowverse as Ray Palmer / The Atom and Superman. There currently isn't a Wonder Woman in the CW shows and she could show them how it's done.

Update: There are rumors she's negotiating an appearance so fingers crossed!

5. Dean Cain as Superman

First Appearance in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
Dean Cain played Superman in the 1990s television series. He appears in the Supergirl series as Supergirl's adopted father.

Like Brandon Routh, he could come back to play an older Superman. He's even open to the idea of reprising his role. "I would love it," he told SyFy Wire. "I have some fun ideas about what I’d like to see happen if we revisit these characters 25 years later."

6. Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane

First Appearance in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

For a generation of Superman fans, there's only one Lois Lane: Teri Hatcher. She played Lois alongside Cain in the 1990s television series.

Recently she cosplayed as Lois for San Diego Comic-Con and recently she did an interview where she said she'd love to come back. She even has an idea of where to go with it. "I thought maybe as the kid was getting older, he’s struggling with trying to figure out what to do with his powers, and [Clark] would have to get his powers back," she said. "And then, I was mostly thinking about a marriage where you stay together [despite the struggles]. When [Clark] didn’t have powers and Lois was working, it was emasculating and struggling … but once the kid is out of the picture, Lois and Clark have to figure out do we stay married?"

7. Julie Newmar as Catwoman

First Appearance in Batman

One of Batman's greatest villains is Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. She's also one of his greatest loves. Julie Newmar played the villainess Catwoman in the 1960s television series alongside Adam West to sultry perfection.

She's 86 now and doesn't do much acting, but she has lent her voice to animated shows like Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Batman vs. Two-Face. Newmar could play an older version of Catwoman opposite Kevin Conroy's older Batman. There's a comic book precedent in her return in the graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. Would she be up for the role? Only time would tell but she'd be amazing.

8. Justin Hartley as Green Arrow

First Appearance in Smallville

Back in the 80s the show Smallville tried to make it's own Justice League and had it's own Green Arrow. Justin Hartley played Oliver Queen as the billionaire playboy living in Smallville. While the character didn't get as dark and complex as the current version he did get some nuance.

The 42-year old actor now plays on the hit drama This is Us but he's open to bringing back the green cowl. "If it was the right part, yeah," Hartley said on Smallville co-star Michael Rosenbaum's Inside of You podcast. "I love interesting characters. Yeah, if it was something that I could get excited about, yeah, of course."

Since it's expected that Green Arrow isn't going to be around much longer it would even open the door to another Oliver Queen in the Arrowverse.

9. Ashley Scott as Helena Kyle / Huntress

First Appearance in Birds of Prey

The Arrowverse has a female-oriented team but, back in 2002, WB tried to make a female-oriented show based on the "Birds of Prey" comic. On the show, Ashley Scott plays Helena Kyle the daughter of Batman and Catwoman. She's fierce with the metahuman ability to display cat-like abilities including enhanced agility, strength, healing and a sixth sense for danger, as well as the ability to shift her eyes to a feline form.

While the show only lasted one season and does have a cult following it's not widely known. Which would make it a perfect property to tap for the show. Ashley Scott, now 42, is still acting and has a role in the Jumanji sequel coming out later this year. She would fit right in with the Helena Bertinelli / Huntress on Arrow played by Jessica De Gouw.

Update: Ashley Scott has signed on to play Huntress!

10. Michael Keaton as Batman

First Appearance in Batman

Michael Keaton played Bruce Wayne in the Tim Burton movie Batman back in 1989. His performance as the tortured and broken Batman changed comic book movies forever. It would be incredible to see him back in the cape and cowl.

Would he return? Hard to say. He doesn't do television much these days. A few years ago he said he'd be open to playing Batman again as long as Tim Burton was involved. So it's a long-shot, but would be incredible. Considering there's no Batman in the Arrowverse it would be cool.

The crossover promises a lot of surprises and who knows who and what we'll see. But hopefully, we'll see some of these actors don their cape and cowls once more.

The "Crisis on Infinite Earths" 5-episode The CW crossover begins Sunday, December 8th with an episode of Supergirl. It's followed on Monday on an episode of Batwoman then continues on Tuesday's The Flash. It concludes a month later on the January 14th episode of Arrow before ending with a special episode of Legends of Tomorrow.
