8 Incredible Things Marvel Planned for Spider-Man

Gambar
Find out everything Marvel had planned for Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Recently the blockbuster news hit that Sony pulled the plug on the Marvel deal for Spider-Man. Update: Sony and Marvel reached a deal for one more movie. So some of these plot threads can get wrapped up. Spider-Man is wholly owned by Marvel Comics. But back in the 1990s, they sold the live-action television and movie rights to produce live-action versions of the character and all related characters. It's confusing but our chart helps a little. In 2016 Marvel revealed they worked out a deal where Sony would allow them to use certain characters in exchange for the profits. It allowed Spider-Man to cameo in one movie, two Avengers movies, and two solo movies. Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland , first appeared in Captain America: Civil War . He quickly became a fan favorite and his awkward performance won over fans who expressed reservations about yet another reboot of the character. But...

Spider-Man 2 (2004) - Spider-Man / Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) Find out what could happen now that Spider-Man is leaving the MCU. Yesterday news broke that negotiations between Sony and Disney over rights to Spider-Man have broken down. If you haven't heard Marvel Studios doesn't own the rights to all the Marvel characters (You can check out our handy Marvel Movie Rights chart for a primer). Back in 2015 Sony and Disney created a complex arrangement to allow Peter Parker \ Spider-Man into the MCU under producer Kevin Feige . Apparently, during contract negotiations for the next set of movies, the deal broke down. There was already tension between Sony and Marvel. A report came out that they had put a clause in the contract that if the Spider-Man sequel didn't make $1 billion Marvel would lose the licensing rights to Spider-Man . Sony recently announced that the latest movie Spider-Man: Far From Home has crossed $1 billion and is the studio's most successful release. ...

Why the Iron Spider Suit Was Missing in SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Trailers

Gambar
Marvel pulled a ton of surprises from Spider-Man: Far From Home . The biggest is that Mysterio is a villain (although he's always been a villain ). But another lingering question is how could there be a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming if he died in Avengers: Infinity War ? Marvel tried hard to avoid spoilers for Avengers: Endgame and his fate. First a brief history of the Iron Spider armored suit. Where Did the Iron Spider Suit Come From? The suit first shows up in the Marvel "Civil War" storyline Amazing Spider-Man #529 (2006) by J. Michael Straczynski and Ron Garney.  Peter Parker initially sides with Tony Stark for the Superhero Registration Act and he gives him a suit of armor that gives him additional powers and capabilities. The first live-action appearance of the Iron Spider suit is at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017. Stark first takes away the suit he made for Peter. He later presents him with a new suit inspired by the Iron Man armor and welcomes him...

Review: SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME is the Fourth Best Spider-Man Movie

Gambar
Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) - Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Quentin Beck / Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) Spider-Man: Far From Home is a good movie, but not as good as others. Jon Watts'  second Spider-Man movie succeeds on many levels. As the end of Phase 3 of the Marvel movies, it excels but as a stand-alone movie, it lacks something. Warning: Minor spoilers for Spider-Man: Far from Home . The movie picks up five years after the events of Avengers: Endgame and everyone including Peter Parker (Tom Holland) are trying to rebuild life after "The Blip" where everyone disappeared for five years thanks to Thanos. Spider-Man is traveling the country for charity with his Aunt May and decides to go with his class on vacation to Europe. He's tired of saving the world and is looking forward to spending time with his friends and telling his friend Michelle "MJ" Jones (Zendaya) how he feels about her. After getting there he sees the country attacked by ho...

How SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Can Fix the MCU's Interracial Relationship Problem

Gambar
Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) - Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Tom Holland) Spider-Man: Far From Home is coming to theaters and with it the very first interracial relationship in the MCU. This is a problem. For all the studio's promises of diversity, they've fallen way short in this area. First, they took forever to bring one in. Then they dropped it. Finally, they've shoe-horned one into the movies without explanation. Mixed couples were literally illegal at one time. Now the numbers have expanded to about 15% in the US. As recently as the 1960s, movies with interracial love stories faced boycotts and banning in parts of the U.S. They're getting more common every day and commercials and movies have been showing them more and more. Despite that, the Marvel movies have been unusually devoid of them. It's worth noting that Marvel Studios has had a problem with romantic relationships for its entire run. Of the few pairings, most have been hit with the ridiculous stick...

SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME: The Returning Spider-Man Actor You Need to Know

Gambar
Rumors suggest an actor from the Sam Raimi films may be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This could be a major spoiler so I'll put the full details after the warning banner but a major character from the comic books and the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy may be coming to the MCU. We don't post a lot of rumors, but this one is very exciting. A lot of source material from the comics has been brought to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Characters like Aunt May and putting Peter Parker in high school are straight from the early comics. But one character has been suspiciously absent: J. Jonah Jameson. He's the publisher of the newspaper Peter takes pictures for named "The Daily Bugle". The character was co-created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and he first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (1963). J.J. hates Spider-Man and launches a full-on media attack on the web-slinger. J.J. serves as a major antagonist for Peter and Spider-Man since he fought wit...
