Marvel superhero movies are money-making machines. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) alone is worth over $22 billion. They rake in billions of dollars for the studios and have launched the careers of dozens of actors. The studios say they work closely with filmmakers to have them make a spectacular movie. But the pressure and creative struggles are sometimes too much. Most of the time the process works well and audiences flock to see a director's vision come to life. But sometimes everything breaks down and a director quits.  Here are nine directors who called it quits while working on a Marvel movie. 1. This is a problem. For all the studio's promises of diversity, they've fallen way short in this area. First, they took forever to bring one in. Then they dropped it. Finally, they've shoe-horned one into the movies without explanation. Mixed couples were literally illegal at one time. Now the numbers have expanded to about 15% in the US. As recently as the 1960s, movies with interracial love stories faced boycotts and banning in parts of the U.S. They're getting more common every day and commercials and movies have been showing them more and more. Rumors suggest an actor from the Sam Raimi films may be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This could be a major spoiler so I'll put the full details after the warning banner but a major character from the comic books and the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy may be coming to the MCU. Spider-Man: Far From Home is less than a month away and Marvel is cranking up the marketing material for International audiences. The newest batch of promotional character sheets spotlights the main characters Michelle "MJ" Jones (Zendaya), Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Quentin Beck aka Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). A new Chinese poster shows a few more characters and adds the stone elemental ( not Molten Man ). New International trailer for China.
