10 Amazing Directors Who Quit Marvel Movies

Gambar
Marvel superhero movies are money-making machines. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) alone is worth over $22 billion. They rake in billions of dollars for the studios and have launched the careers of dozens of actors. The studios say they work closely with filmmakers to have them make a spectacular movie. But the pressure and creative struggles are sometimes too much. Most of the time the process works well and audiences flock to see a director's vision come to life. But sometimes everything breaks down and a director quits.  Here are nine directors who called it quits while working on a Marvel movie. 1. Edgar Wright An Ant-Man movie was a passion project for Edgar Wright for many years. No one thought the pint-sized superhero would ever connect with audiences but he fought to get the film made. After a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, Marvel agreed to make the first Ant-Man film. Wright worked on the movie for several years and submitted multiple drafts. The movie was close to be...

Which movies inspired Black Widow? What MCU character could inspire a new Superman? Where is Stan Lee getting a street named after him? We can't always cover everything. So here's everything you missed this morning Friday, July 26, 2019. In Case You Missed It (ICYMI). Above Image:  Hot Toys Val Kilmer Batman unveiled at ACG Hong Kong | Redditt - /DC_Cinematic 1. AVENGERS: ENDGAME Writers Reveal What They Would Do To Get SUPERMAN Right In A Movie | Comic Book Movie "I certainly think that Captain America shows that there are certainly ways to do a really good Superman movie in this day," McFeely explained. "You know, you don't have to dirty him up. You don't have to get rid of his earnestness. The Christopher Reeve Superman is one of my favorite movies, and so that's one we certainly borrow from all the time."  Every time someone says Superman is boring I remind them of Captain America. Different suit. Same moral code. 2. ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Ca...

How SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Can Fix the MCU's Interracial Relationship Problem

Gambar
Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) - Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Tom Holland) Spider-Man: Far From Home is coming to theaters and with it the very first interracial relationship in the MCU. This is a problem. For all the studio's promises of diversity, they've fallen way short in this area. First, they took forever to bring one in. Then they dropped it. Finally, they've shoe-horned one into the movies without explanation. Mixed couples were literally illegal at one time. Now the numbers have expanded to about 15% in the US. As recently as the 1960s, movies with interracial love stories faced boycotts and banning in parts of the U.S. They're getting more common every day and commercials and movies have been showing them more and more. Despite that, the Marvel movies have been unusually devoid of them. It's worth noting that Marvel Studios has had a problem with romantic relationships for its entire run. Of the few pairings, most have been hit with the ridiculous stick...

SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME: The Returning Spider-Man Actor You Need to Know

Gambar
Rumors suggest an actor from the Sam Raimi films may be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This could be a major spoiler so I'll put the full details after the warning banner but a major character from the comic books and the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy may be coming to the MCU. We don't post a lot of rumors, but this one is very exciting. A lot of source material from the comics has been brought to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Characters like Aunt May and putting Peter Parker in high school are straight from the early comics. But one character has been suspiciously absent: J. Jonah Jameson. He's the publisher of the newspaper Peter takes pictures for named "The Daily Bugle". The character was co-created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and he first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (1963). J.J. hates Spider-Man and launches a full-on media attack on the web-slinger. J.J. serves as a major antagonist for Peter and Spider-Man since he fought wit...
