Find out why the internet is melting over Baby Yoda meeting George Lucas. The breakout star of the Disney+ show The Mandalorian is the little guy nicknamed Baby Yoda. Back in the 1970s writer-director, George Lucas created the first Star Wars movie. In 1980 he produced Empire Strikes Back and introduced Jedi master Yoda. In 2019 The Mandalorian introduced a 50-year old baby alien that looks a lot like Yoda. Fans saw the big eyes, floppy ears, and overgrown cloak and immediately fell in love. He's only named "The Child" on the show and apparently does have a real name but it's not being released.

Back when Lucas was in charge he had a rule that no one could develop anything or offer any stories based on Yoda's species. He broke that rule a little during the prequels when he showed a female alien of Yoda's species named Yaddle. Since there's been nothing. After Disney bought the rights to Star Wars they made several changes to his vision. This is the biggest break from his rules. You'd think he'd be furious. So how does Lucas feel about Baby Yoda?

Jon Favreau recently shared a picture of Geroge Lucas holding the Baby Yoda puppet on his personal Twitter feed. It's pure magic.
It's pretty blurry but the look in his eyes as he holds the little guy would melt the darkest of Sith Lord's heart.

Here are some of the best reactions:

Joonas Suotamo, who plays Chewbacca in the Star Wars sequels and spin-offs said, "The Maker and the Child".

KenXPanthers23 said, "this is the way."

The Rise of Bruce Wright pointed out the best thing about the photo. An unnamed woman in the background who is all of us. They said, "I’m the smiling through tears bystander.

Baby Yoda meeting George Lucas is the best thing to happen to Star Wars since the lightsaber. I have spoken.
