Read on to find out every Marvel movie you can't watch on Disney+. Since Disney released its streaming service Disney Plus about a month ago they've seen tens of millions sign-up. The service is billed as the "ultimate streaming destination" for Marvel movies.
But while the catalog of Marvel movies is the best out there it's still missing dozens of live-action movies based on Marvel comics. Sometimes Disney can't release it. Sometimes Disney won't release it. Sometimes it's both.
Here's a list of every live-action Marvel movie you won't find on Disney+.
Is Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) on Disney+? No. In 2016 Netflix purchased the exclusive streaming U.S. rights to Disney's films. The deal includes Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar subsidiaries. Right now the streaming rights to the Marvel movies from 2018 are still with Netflix. But a search in the Disney+ platform says Ant-Man and the Wasp is coming July 29th next year.
Back in 2018 Avengers: Infinity War was released centered around the Marvel comic book superhero team made up of Tony Stark / Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Bruce Banner / Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Steve Rogers / Captain America (Chris Evans), Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), James "Rhodey" Rhodes / War Machine (Don Cheadle), Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Tom Holland), T'Challa / Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Vision (Paul Bettany), Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Sam Wilson / Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Bucky Barnes / White Wolf (Sebastian Stan). It's the culmination of a decade of interconnected films and is the sequel to the 2012 hit The Avengers and 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Avengers joined Peter Quill / Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Rocket (Bradley Cooper) - also known as "The Guardians of the Galaxy".
The teams are fighting the "Mad Titan" Thanos (Josh Brolin). Thanos and his team are on a quest to collect the six powerful "Infinity Stones" and add them to his gantlet. If he succeeds he plans to kill half of all sentient life in the universe. Directed by the brother film and television director team Anthony and Joe Russo it was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It's the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Currently, Netflix still has a streaming license deal with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures that means Disney+ can't show the movie. But a search on Disney+ shows the trailer and says the movie is coming on June 25, 2020.
Update: As of today, Black Panther is now on Disney +.
The 2018 Black Panther is Marvel Studios' eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie stars Chadwick Boseman as King T'Challa / Black Panther of the fictional African country of Wakanda. By his side are Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), W'Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya), Zuri (Forest Whitaker), and his sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) and mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett). After his father dies T'Challa has his sovereignty challenged by a mysterious newcomer Erik "Killmonger" Stevens (Michael B. Jordan) along with Wakanda's long-time foe Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis). Killmonger wants to overturn the country's isolationist policies and start a global revolution. It's directed by Ryan Kyle Coogler.
Black Panther is under Netflix's agreement as well. Right now you can't watch Black Panther on Disney+. But you can watch a trailer for the movie and an announcement the movie will be coming March 4th next year.
The first solo Spider-Man film in the MCU was the 2017 superhero movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. Directed by Jon Watts it was co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The second reboot movie focuses on Peter Parker’s trials to balance his high school life and his role as a crime fighter. A new villain nicknamed Vulture is selling high tech weapons created from stolen SHIELD equipment.
Is Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) on Disney+? No. Disney made an agreement with Sony to co-produce the movies and use the character in the Marvel movies. But the movies are distributed, released and remain controlled by Sony. It's true Disney could buy the rights to include them on Disney+ from Sony. But considering the fuss getting more money from the character it's unlikely. It's currently streaming with a subscription to FuboTV.

Directed by Jon Watts this 2019 Spider-Man movie is the sequel to the 2017 hit Spider-Man Homecoming. The twenty-third MCU movie stars Tom Holland traveling on a school trip through Europe. He gets recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) to fight a group of elemental creatures alongside Quentin Beck / Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).
Is Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) on Disney+? Not now. Like the other Spider-Man movies the distribution rights are owned by Sony. Ricky Strauss, head of content and marketing at Disney+ recently addressed this issue in an interview with The Verge. ‘We Love our friends at Sony, but we don’t have any plans to have the live-action Spider-Man movies on Disney+. We will have all the Spider-Man animated shows that we did so they’ll be on there under the Marvel banner. But who knows what can happen in the future?

In 2008 the superhero movie The Incredible Hulk opened in theaters. It's the second live-action theatrical film and the second MCU film. Bruce Banner inadvertently involves himself in a United States military scheme to recreate the super-soldier serum that created Captain America. The process turns him into the monstrous Hulk when stressed or angry. While trying to find a cure for his condition he is captured by General Thaddeus Ross. He fights against the power-hungry soldier Emil Blonsky who turns himself into the monstrous Abomination.
Marvel sold the distribution rights to Hulk back in 1990. While Marvel co-produced The Incredible Hulk Universal still owns the distribution rights to the film. That’s also the reason Marvel hasn't been able to use the Hulk in a solo movie. Disney might be able to buy the rights from the company but we'll see if they think it's worth it to complete the MCU library.
Is Hulk (2003) on Disney+? No. Because of Universal's distribution rights to Hulk Disney can't show the movie on the streaming service. That may change in the future but Hulk is not on Disney+. But Hulk shows up in several of the MCU movies on Disney+ including Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War. Plus, the animated 1996 The Incredible Hulk and 2014 Hulk: The Agents of SMASH series are on Disney+
Sam Raimi directed the first theatrical live-action Spider-Man movie in 2002. Tobey Maguire plays the socially awkward teenager Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire). He gets bitten by a genetically engineered spider and gains fantastic abilities. But he learns the importance of responsibility when his Uncle Ben is killed and becomes the vigilante superhero Spider-Man. When the city is threatened by the psychotic Norman Osborn / Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) he has to balance his personal life with his responsibility to save others.
Is Spider-Man (2002) on Disney+? Not right now. The Wall-Crawler is owned by Sony. So while Disney got the license to use him in the MCU for a few movies they can't stream any of the other movies.

In 2004 Sam Raimi returned to direct the sequel Spider-Man 2. This time Peter (Tobey Maguire) faces off against his mentor Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina). After a freak accident in Octavius' Oscorp lab, he's fused with mechanical arms and driven insane. Spider-Man has to stop Doctor Octopus while facing big changes in his personal life.
Is Spider-Man 2 on Disney+? Nope. Sony still has the rights to the movies and Disney hasn't gotten the rights to them. You can stream Spider-Man 2 from FXNOW, DirectTV and Fubo. They're available to rent or buy online from sites like Amazon.

In 2007 Sam Raimi directed his third and final Spider-Man film with Tobey Maguire. Set a little after Spider-Man 2Peter is planning a future with Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) and accidentally bonds with an alien symbiote. The symbiote gives him enhanced abilities but also brings out his anger and dark side. Meanwhile, he faces off against two villains: Uncle Ben's true killer Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church) who becomes Sandman after a freak accident and Harry Osborn (James Franco) who seeks revenge on Spider-Man as New Goblin.
Is Spider-Man 3 on Disney+? Nah. Spider-Man 3 is the least popular of the trilogy and killed plans for future movies with the cast. But since Sony has the rights to Spider-Man 3 Disney couldn't stream the movie even if they wanted to. But right now you can watch it on Netflix if you have a subscription.

In 2012 Sony tried to reboot the Spider-Man movies with Marc Webb as the director. It stars Andrew Garfield as the brilliant high school student Peter Parker. Is The Amazing Spider-Man(2012) on Disney+? No way. Sony still owns the rights to the Spider-Man movies and hasn't sold or licensed them to Marvel. But if you want to stream it and you have a subscription to FXNOW or Fubo you can watch it. Otherwise, you can rent or buy it on sites like Amazon.

The Amazing Spider-Man did well at the box office so Sony greenlit a sequel by director Marc Webb. Two years after The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2hit theaters. This time the movie follows Peter Parker as he meets up with his old friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) who's become the new owner of Oscorp after his father's death. Spider-Man fights Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) who's accidentally transformed into the electrically powered villain Electro.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (internationally marketed as The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro) on Disney+? You won't find it there. Sony has the right to the Spider-Man movies and Disney can't add them to the Disney+ library. But you can stream them with a subscription to FXNOW or Fubo.
Deadpool was a fan-favorite character for his bawdy humor and meta fourth-wall-breaking. The movie stalled in development hell for years before coming to screens in 2016 directed by Tim Miller. Ryan Reynolds stars as ex-mercenary Wade Wilson who is searching for a cure to his cancer. Francis "Fanny" Freeman / Ajax (Ed Skrein) subjects him to a battery of experiments that unlocks his mutant ability to spontaneously heal but caused massive physical scarring. Calling himself Deadpool he hunts down Francis alongside Vanessa Geraldine Carlysle / Copycat (Morena Baccarin), Ellie Phimister / Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), and Jack "Weasel" Hammer (T.J. Miller).
Is Deadpool on Disney+? No. Deadpool is a hard "R" for its bloody violence and mature humor. So there are no plans to include it into the G-rated Disney+ platform. But you can watch it on FXNow or FuboTV
The success of Deadpool led to a sequel in 2018. it’s loosely set in the world of the X-men movies making it the eleventh of Fox’s X-men movies. Deadpool forms the mutant team X-Force to protect the young mutant Russell Collins / Firefist from Cable a cybernetic soldier from the future.
Right now Disney+ doesn’t show movies that are rated R. You can’t get much more rated r than Deadpool. But Disney has plans to bring Deadpool into the MCU and continue his adventures. So who knows what movies might feature him in the future. Deadpool 2 isn’t on Disney+ but is available on Cinemax's streaming service MaxGO.

Based on the long-running comic book character Wesley Snipes plays Eric Stokes Brooks / Blade a half-human / half-vampire known as a "Day-Walker" or Dhampir. He has all the strength of a vampire but none of the weaknesses like garlic or sunlight. Directed by Stephen Norrington and written by David S. Goyer he fights to protect humans from vampires. Stephen Dorff plays Deacon Frost who is on a quest to become an all-powerful vampire. Frost plans to use his power to destroy the human race believing vampires are the rightful owners of the world. Blade fights alongside Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) and Dr. Karen Jenson (N'Bushe Wright).
Disney+ is marketed as a kid-friendly service. Walt Disney has said they have no plans to stream movies rated R (or restricted) by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). But Blade is currently streaming on Hulu. Disney owns a majority share in Hulu as part of its $71 billion acquisition of the Fox movie and TV studios. So Blade could stay on Hulu forever. Or at least until the reboot movie starring Mahershala Ali is made.
In 2002 Wesley Snipes reprised his role as Blade for the sequel. David S. Goyer wrote the script again but it's directed by Guillermo del Toro. Set two years after the first movie he forms an unlikely alliance with vampire leader Damaskinos (Thomas Kretschmann) and a group of vampires. They are forced to join together after a group of 'Reapers', a mutation of vampires, that threaten to eradicate both humans and vampires from the planet. Snipes joins an elite group of vampire commandos known as "Bloodpack"
The blood-soaked sequel Blade II is currently on Hulu. It's unlikely that Disney+ will share the movie on its platform. Wesley Snipes will have to stay on Hulu for now.
Blade: Trinity is the third movie in the franchise and the first directed and written by David S. Goyer. Blade finds himself hunted by the FBI after vampires have framed him for a series of grisly murders. Agent Cumberland (James Remar) is on his tracks and closing fast. Meanwhile, the vampires have returned Dracula (Dominic Purcell) back from the dead (undead?) and given him the ability to walk in daylight unharmed. After he's rescued from the FBI Blade and Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) form an alliance with a group of vampire hunters known as Nighstalkers. Hannibal King (Ryan Reynolds), and Whistler's daughter, Abigail (Jessica Biel) are fighting the vampires. Sommerfield (Natasha Lyonne) their biologist is working on a scientific answer to the vampire problem. Danica Talos (Parker Posey), Asher (Callum Keith Rennie), and Grimwood (Triple H) fight alongside Drake, Dracula's new name, to rid the world of humans and vampires.
Like Blade and Blade II, Blade: Trinity is on Disney's newly acquired streaming platform Hulu. It'll probably stay there as long as Disney+ has a "no R-rated movie" policy.

In 1990, after the success of Batman Marvel set out to make a superhero movie about Captain America directed by Albert Pyun. The low budget movie follows the basic idea of Steve Rogers / Captain America (Matt Salinger) being a subject of an experiment to become a super soldier and getting frozen in ice after fighting The Red Skull (Scott Paulin). After he's unfrozen the story diverges wildly. He's unfrozen to save the President of the United States and discovers his old nemesis has had plastic surgery to look like a burnt-up weenie and become the head of a crime family.
The movie is so bad they scuttled plans to release it theatrically in the states. It had a limited theatrical release in Europe and was sent it straight to home video. While the first Captain America movie is owned by Marvel they would probably prefer it never sees the light of day again.

Mark Steven Johnson's Daredevil is Ben Affleck's first superhero role. The 2003 movie is based on the blind Marvel comic book superhero. Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck) fights crime in the courtroom during the day and fights for justice at night as the costumed vigilante. But his life is turned upside down when he meets Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner) and gets close to busting the New York crime lord Wilson Fisk (Michael Clarke Duncan) who's also known as Kingpin. The movie is considered a flop but has a cult following.
When Netflix picked up the live-action rights to Daredevil they signed a contract that means Marvel can’t develop a live-action movie about the character. But the Walt Disney Company bought out 20th Century Fox and owns the movie. So why isn’t Daredevil on Disney+? Probably because they don’t want people getting confused when the MCU movie comes out.

Rob Bowman directed Elektra. The 2005 spin-off from the 2003 film Daredevil. It stars Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios a contract killer for a mysterious ninja organization known as "The Hand". She's sent to kill a man and his daughter but ends up protecting them from the Hand herself.
Elektra recently appeared in the Netflix series Daredevil as well so Marvel does have rights. After Netflix canceled the series Marvel confirmed they have plans to bring the characters back in some form. So perhaps they don’t want to muddy the waters with the box office bomb that is Elektra.

The long-running superhero team Fantastic Four has had a number of live-action films with dubious levels of success. The first big-budget movie about the group is the 2005 movie directed by Tim Story. Sometimes called Fantastic Four the movie is about a group of astronauts led by the brilliant scientist Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd). The group gets caught in an outer space anomaly and he along with Susan Storm (Jessica Alba), Johnny Storm (Chris Evans), Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis), and Victor Von Doom (Julian McMahon) are given fantastical powers. Calling themselves Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, and The Thing they fight to stop Doctor Doom from exacting revenge on them.
The movie got mixed reviews but was a success at the box office. It was produced by Fox but Disney bought the company and now owns the movie. Marvel has the rights to produce a live-action Fantastic Four movie and announced plans to do that. So Disney may have decided it's not worth diluting the brand with the lackluster film for now. It's streaming on it's Hulu platform. Also, Starz has exclusive first-run film licensing agreements with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures since 1994 and it's streaming on the network's platform.

The first Fantastic Four did well enough so the studio green-lit a sequel. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (titled Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer on the DVD/Blu-ray release) is a 2007 superhero with Tim Story returning as director. Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm all return. In the sequel a mysterious creature named Silver Surfer coming to Earth to protect it from the cosmic entity trying to consume our world named Galactus.
The cast for Fantastic Four originally signed a three-picture deal but the disappointing box office and poor reviews scuttled the plans. Marvel now owns the rights to the Fantastic Four and could release it on Disney Plus+ but decided not to release it for now.
Josh Trank's reboot of Fantastic Four dropped and sank like a stone in 2015. The movie follows Reed Richards (Miles Teller), his best friend Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell), Sue Storm (Kate Mara), her brother Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan), and Victor Von Doom (Toby Kebbell). The three travel to an alternate dimension. While there and accident infused the five with fantastical powers. Sometime later the four are reunited to help combat the threat of Doom.
This is the third and final film based on the superhero team. Marvel announced they’re working on another Fantastic Four movie so assume they’re keeping it off Disney+ for the same reason as the other movies. They do have a bunch of animated series Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes (2006) and the 1994 cartoon series Fantastic Four.
Directed by Willard Huyck Howard the Duck is about a duck from a dimension of anthropomorphic ducks pulled into our world due to the experiments of Jeffrey Jones. Jones is transformed into an Evil Dark Lord and plans to bring other Dark Lords to conquer our world. Howard teams up with Lea Thompson and Tim Robbins to defeat him.
Marvel dominates the movie industry now but it didn’t start that way. Back in 1986 Marvel hadn’t had a live-action theatrical adaptation of their characters since the Captain America serials of the 1940s. Then came Howard the Duck. The movie is considered a flop and savaged by critics so Disney probably isn’t in a rush to release it. But he has a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy which is on Disney+. Otherwise, it’s on Starz.
In 1989 Marvel created a live-action movie based on the violent antihero Punisher. The Punisher stars Dolph Lundgren as ex-police officer Frank Castle. After his family is violently killed in a mob hit he goes on a one-man war on crime. He learns several children are kidnapped. The Punisher sets out to track them down and enact violent vengeance on the kidnappers.
Is The Punisher on Disney+? No. The movie is rated R for a reason. In fact, when it was submitted to the MPAA they rated it X (no one under 17 admitted) until the studio cut some of the gun violence. So it's unlikely Disney would stream it. Plus, the first live-action appearance of the Punisher was a flop at the box office. Considering Marvel’s current refusal to stream movies rated R it’s unlikely Mark Goldblatt's movie will make it to the streaming network.
More than a decade after the first live-action Punisher movie the studio tried to reboot the franchise. In 2004 Thomas Jane plays Frank Castle in the reboot of the Marvel antihero. Castle faces off against Howard Saint (John Travolta), a money launderer who orders the death of Castle's family. This sends him in a bloody search for revenge.
Is The Punisher (2004) on Disney+? No. The movie did well enough but not well enough to push Marvel to bring the movie’s hard R rating to the streaming platform.

The third Punisher movie is actually another reboot. This time the vigilante Frank Castle is played by Ray Stevenson who later joins the MCU as Thor's friend Volstagg. The movie follows Castle in a war against the crime boss Billy "Jigsaw" Russotti (Dominic West). Punisher: War Zone is the first to be produced under the Marvel Entertainment Banner. But it was shipped to the Marvel Knights division geared for mature audiences.
Is Punisher: War Zone on Disney+? No. That mature audience rating is why it probably won't see the light of day on Disney+. Currently, Marvel hasn't announced plans to produce a Punisher movie but that's because the license deal with Netflix prevents them from making a movie or TV show till 2020. So we'll see if it drops before or after the MCU version of Punisher.

In 2000 Bryan Singer directed the first live-action theatrical movie based on the comic book team known as the X-Men. The movie follows Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Rogue (Anna Paquin) who are pursued by an evil group of mutants led by Magneto (Ian McKellen). Mutants are a small group of people who are born with amazing abilities. They’re protected by Professor Xavier who runs the school for gifted youngsters that train mutants. Xavier’s team, called X-Men.
Is X-Men (2000) on Disney+? Nope. When Disney bought Fox they also bought the rights to the X-men movies. So Marvel owns the Fox movies and put them on Disney Plus. But they're undoubtedly working on an MCU version of the Xmen so they probably want to avoid confusing consumers.

The sequel to Bryan Singer's X-Men is named X2 and often promoted as X2: X-Men United.
The plot is inspired by the graphic novel "God Loves, Man Kills". Colonel William Stryker (Brian Cox) leads an assault on Professor Xavier's school and build his own version of the mutant-tracking computer Cerebro. Along with a mind-controlling mutant he plans to destroy every mutant on Earth and "save" the human race. The team has to join forces with
the Brotherhood of Mutants to stop Stryker.
Is X2 on Disney Plus? None of the Fox X-Men movies are on Disney+. But there are three animated series on the streaming platform. The 1990s X-Men, 2000s X-Men Evolution, and 2008s Wolverine and the X-Men.

In 2006 X-Men: The Last Stand hit theaters. It's the sequel to X2and the third X-Men movie in the series. Director Bryan Singer stepped away from the director's chair this time and Brett Ratner took his place. The film's screenplay is loosely based on two fan-favorite X-Men comic book story arcs: "The Dark Phoenix Saga" by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, and "Gifted" by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday. The movie brings back the X-Men Logan / Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Ororo Munroe / Storm (Halle Berry), Charles Xavier / Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Marie / Rogue (Anna Paquin), Scott Summers / Cyclops (James Marsden), Bobby Drake / Iceman (Shawn Ashmore). It also introduces Kitty Pryde / Shadowcat (Ellen Page) and Peter Rasputin / Colossus (Daniel Cudmore). X-Men: The Last Stand tells the story of a mutant cure that's introduced and promises to solve the "mutant problem" but causes friction among the mutant population. Jean Grey / Phoenix (Famke Janssen) apparently returns from the dead and joins Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto (Ian McKellen), Raven Darkholme / Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), John Allerdyce / Pyro (Aaron Stanford), Cain Marko / Juggernaut (Vinnie Jones) along with the other members of the Brotherhood of Mutants fighting the release of the cure.
Is X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) on Disney+? No. Like the other X-Men movies, the rights are owned by Fox which is now owned by Disney. But it is available to stream right now on Fubo.

In 2009 the studio decided to spinoff their most popular X-Men character Wolverine into his own movie. The fourth movie in the Marvel mutant superheroes is directed by Gavin Hood. It follows mutant James Howlett (Hugh Jackman) and his sadistic half-brother Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber). Over decades their brotherly affection turns to bitter rivalry. Early encounters with Team X eventually lead him to go through the adamantium bonding procedure that makes him Wolverine.
Disney+ is marketed as a kid-friendly service. Walt Disney has said they have no plans to stream movies rated R (or restricted) by the MPAA. So X-Men Origins: Wolverine may never show up in Disney Plus. But Disney could move it to Hulu in the future. If you can't wait then get yourself a subscription to FuboTV
In 2013 the second stand-alone Wolverine movie was released. Directed by James Mangold the movie follows Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine. The story is a loose adaptation of the 1982 limited series Wolverine by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller. Logan's called to Japan to say goodbye to a man he'd saved during World War II named Ichirō Yashida (Haruhiko Yamanouchi). There he's mysteriously stripped of his healing factor and has to fight Yakuza gangsters and ninjas to protect Mariko (Tao Okamoto).
Is The Wolverine (2013) on Disney+? Not now. The X-Men rights are back with Marvel thanks to the purchase of Fox Studios. But the movie is rated R and doesn't fit in with Disney+ playlist. Plus, when Marvel Studios reboots Wolverine they're not going to want comparisons to Hugh Jackman.

2017 brought the ninth installment in the X-Men franchise. Bryan Singer returns to direct the sequel to Days of Future Past. In the movie, the ancient all-powerful mutant En Sabah Nur / Apocalypse is awoken from his tomb in 1983. Deciding humanity is corrupt he plans to wipe out modern civilization and rebuild the world in his image. the X-Men band together to try and stop him and his team of mutants.
The X Men movie should have been epic but tanked at the box office. So Marvel isn’t too excited about releasing it. While the movie is steaming in some international markets it hasn’t made it to the US yet.
In 2017 James Mangold returned to direct the third and last solo movie about Wolverine. This time the movie is dark, bleak and violent based on the 2008 "Old Man Logan" character created by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Logan / Wolverine in an alternate future. He's taking care of a sick Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and protecting a young mutant named Laura from a group of villainous Reavers led by Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) and Dr. Zander Rice (Richard E. Grant).
Is Logan (2017) on Disney+? No. In fact, it may never be on Disney+. The movies are owned by Disney but Logan is a hard R. That means blood and guts splattered everywhere. It's hard to imagine the movie making it into the library but they might send it to Hulu. For now, you can watch it on FXNow, DIRECTV or FuboTV.
Fox produced a series of twelve X-Men movies but this is the last one that was made before the sale to Disney. The movie flopped hard. Marvel Studios announced they’re rebooting the franchise. There's no point in putting these movies on Disney+. But you can watch the animated television series. Frankly, the five-episode "The Dark Phoenix" Saga from 1994 is 1,000,000 times better anyway.
Hopefully, all of the Marvel movies will be on Disney+ soon. Just like the Marvel characters are slowly being pulled under Marvel Studios. But only time will tell when we'll be able to watch a Marvel movie marathon on Disney+. We may want to skip over Captain America but it'd be nice to have the option.

But while the catalog of Marvel movies is the best out there it's still missing dozens of live-action movies based on Marvel comics. Sometimes Disney can't release it. Sometimes Disney won't release it. Sometimes it's both.
Here's a list of every live-action Marvel movie you won't find on Disney+.

The teams are fighting the "Mad Titan" Thanos (Josh Brolin). Thanos and his team are on a quest to collect the six powerful "Infinity Stones" and add them to his gantlet. If he succeeds he plans to kill half of all sentient life in the universe. Directed by the brother film and television director team Anthony and Joe Russo it was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It's the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Currently, Netflix still has a streaming license deal with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures that means Disney+ can't show the movie. But a search on Disney+ shows the trailer and says the movie is coming on June 25, 2020.

The 2018 Black Panther is Marvel Studios' eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie stars Chadwick Boseman as King T'Challa / Black Panther of the fictional African country of Wakanda. By his side are Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), W'Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya), Zuri (Forest Whitaker), and his sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) and mother Ramonda (Angela Bassett). After his father dies T'Challa has his sovereignty challenged by a mysterious newcomer Erik "Killmonger" Stevens (Michael B. Jordan) along with Wakanda's long-time foe Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis). Killmonger wants to overturn the country's isolationist policies and start a global revolution. It's directed by Ryan Kyle Coogler.
Black Panther is under Netflix's agreement as well. Right now you can't watch Black Panther on Disney+. But you can watch a trailer for the movie and an announcement the movie will be coming March 4th next year.
4. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

The first solo Spider-Man film in the MCU was the 2017 superhero movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. Directed by Jon Watts it was co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The second reboot movie focuses on Peter Parker’s trials to balance his high school life and his role as a crime fighter. A new villain nicknamed Vulture is selling high tech weapons created from stolen SHIELD equipment.
Is Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) on Disney+? No. Disney made an agreement with Sony to co-produce the movies and use the character in the Marvel movies. But the movies are distributed, released and remain controlled by Sony. It's true Disney could buy the rights to include them on Disney+ from Sony. But considering the fuss getting more money from the character it's unlikely. It's currently streaming with a subscription to FuboTV.

Directed by Jon Watts this 2019 Spider-Man movie is the sequel to the 2017 hit Spider-Man Homecoming. The twenty-third MCU movie stars Tom Holland traveling on a school trip through Europe. He gets recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) to fight a group of elemental creatures alongside Quentin Beck / Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).
Is Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) on Disney+? Not now. Like the other Spider-Man movies the distribution rights are owned by Sony. Ricky Strauss, head of content and marketing at Disney+ recently addressed this issue in an interview with The Verge. ‘We Love our friends at Sony, but we don’t have any plans to have the live-action Spider-Man movies on Disney+. We will have all the Spider-Man animated shows that we did so they’ll be on there under the Marvel banner. But who knows what can happen in the future?
6. The Incredible Hulk (2008)

In 2008 the superhero movie The Incredible Hulk opened in theaters. It's the second live-action theatrical film and the second MCU film. Bruce Banner inadvertently involves himself in a United States military scheme to recreate the super-soldier serum that created Captain America. The process turns him into the monstrous Hulk when stressed or angry. While trying to find a cure for his condition he is captured by General Thaddeus Ross. He fights against the power-hungry soldier Emil Blonsky who turns himself into the monstrous Abomination.
Marvel sold the distribution rights to Hulk back in 1990. While Marvel co-produced The Incredible Hulk Universal still owns the distribution rights to the film. That’s also the reason Marvel hasn't been able to use the Hulk in a solo movie. Disney might be able to buy the rights from the company but we'll see if they think it's worth it to complete the MCU library.

Ang Lee directed the first live-action movie based on the long-running Marvel comics superhero Hulk in 2003. The movie tells the origin of Bruce Banner who gets caught in a lab accident with gamma radiation. After the accident when he gets stressed or angry he transforms into a super-strong green-skinned monster. General Ross leads the US military in a hunt for the Hulk while Banner's father David has his own plans for him.
Is Hulk (2003) on Disney+? No. Because of Universal's distribution rights to Hulk Disney can't show the movie on the streaming service. That may change in the future but Hulk is not on Disney+. But Hulk shows up in several of the MCU movies on Disney+ including Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War. Plus, the animated 1996 The Incredible Hulk and 2014 Hulk: The Agents of SMASH series are on Disney+
8. Spider-Man (2002)

Sam Raimi directed the first theatrical live-action Spider-Man movie in 2002. Tobey Maguire plays the socially awkward teenager Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire). He gets bitten by a genetically engineered spider and gains fantastic abilities. But he learns the importance of responsibility when his Uncle Ben is killed and becomes the vigilante superhero Spider-Man. When the city is threatened by the psychotic Norman Osborn / Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) he has to balance his personal life with his responsibility to save others.
Is Spider-Man (2002) on Disney+? Not right now. The Wall-Crawler is owned by Sony. So while Disney got the license to use him in the MCU for a few movies they can't stream any of the other movies.
9. Spider-Man 2 (2004)

In 2004 Sam Raimi returned to direct the sequel Spider-Man 2. This time Peter (Tobey Maguire) faces off against his mentor Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina). After a freak accident in Octavius' Oscorp lab, he's fused with mechanical arms and driven insane. Spider-Man has to stop Doctor Octopus while facing big changes in his personal life.
Is Spider-Man 2 on Disney+? Nope. Sony still has the rights to the movies and Disney hasn't gotten the rights to them. You can stream Spider-Man 2 from FXNOW, DirectTV and Fubo. They're available to rent or buy online from sites like Amazon.
10. Spider-Man 3 (2007)

In 2007 Sam Raimi directed his third and final Spider-Man film with Tobey Maguire. Set a little after Spider-Man 2Peter is planning a future with Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) and accidentally bonds with an alien symbiote. The symbiote gives him enhanced abilities but also brings out his anger and dark side. Meanwhile, he faces off against two villains: Uncle Ben's true killer Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church) who becomes Sandman after a freak accident and Harry Osborn (James Franco) who seeks revenge on Spider-Man as New Goblin.
Is Spider-Man 3 on Disney+? Nah. Spider-Man 3 is the least popular of the trilogy and killed plans for future movies with the cast. But since Sony has the rights to Spider-Man 3 Disney couldn't stream the movie even if they wanted to. But right now you can watch it on Netflix if you have a subscription.
11. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

In 2012 Sony tried to reboot the Spider-Man movies with Marc Webb as the director. It stars Andrew Garfield as the brilliant high school student Peter Parker. Is The Amazing Spider-Man(2012) on Disney+? No way. Sony still owns the rights to the Spider-Man movies and hasn't sold or licensed them to Marvel. But if you want to stream it and you have a subscription to FXNOW or Fubo you can watch it. Otherwise, you can rent or buy it on sites like Amazon.

The Amazing Spider-Man did well at the box office so Sony greenlit a sequel by director Marc Webb. Two years after The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2hit theaters. This time the movie follows Peter Parker as he meets up with his old friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) who's become the new owner of Oscorp after his father's death. Spider-Man fights Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) who's accidentally transformed into the electrically powered villain Electro.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (internationally marketed as The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro) on Disney+? You won't find it there. Sony has the right to the Spider-Man movies and Disney can't add them to the Disney+ library. But you can stream them with a subscription to FXNOW or Fubo.
13. Deadpool (2016)

Deadpool was a fan-favorite character for his bawdy humor and meta fourth-wall-breaking. The movie stalled in development hell for years before coming to screens in 2016 directed by Tim Miller. Ryan Reynolds stars as ex-mercenary Wade Wilson who is searching for a cure to his cancer. Francis "Fanny" Freeman / Ajax (Ed Skrein) subjects him to a battery of experiments that unlocks his mutant ability to spontaneously heal but caused massive physical scarring. Calling himself Deadpool he hunts down Francis alongside Vanessa Geraldine Carlysle / Copycat (Morena Baccarin), Ellie Phimister / Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), and Jack "Weasel" Hammer (T.J. Miller).
Is Deadpool on Disney+? No. Deadpool is a hard "R" for its bloody violence and mature humor. So there are no plans to include it into the G-rated Disney+ platform. But you can watch it on FXNow or FuboTV
14. Deadpool 2 (2018)

The success of Deadpool led to a sequel in 2018. it’s loosely set in the world of the X-men movies making it the eleventh of Fox’s X-men movies. Deadpool forms the mutant team X-Force to protect the young mutant Russell Collins / Firefist from Cable a cybernetic soldier from the future.
Right now Disney+ doesn’t show movies that are rated R. You can’t get much more rated r than Deadpool. But Disney has plans to bring Deadpool into the MCU and continue his adventures. So who knows what movies might feature him in the future. Deadpool 2 isn’t on Disney+ but is available on Cinemax's streaming service MaxGO.
15. Blade (1998)

Based on the long-running comic book character Wesley Snipes plays Eric Stokes Brooks / Blade a half-human / half-vampire known as a "Day-Walker" or Dhampir. He has all the strength of a vampire but none of the weaknesses like garlic or sunlight. Directed by Stephen Norrington and written by David S. Goyer he fights to protect humans from vampires. Stephen Dorff plays Deacon Frost who is on a quest to become an all-powerful vampire. Frost plans to use his power to destroy the human race believing vampires are the rightful owners of the world. Blade fights alongside Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) and Dr. Karen Jenson (N'Bushe Wright).
Disney+ is marketed as a kid-friendly service. Walt Disney has said they have no plans to stream movies rated R (or restricted) by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). But Blade is currently streaming on Hulu. Disney owns a majority share in Hulu as part of its $71 billion acquisition of the Fox movie and TV studios. So Blade could stay on Hulu forever. Or at least until the reboot movie starring Mahershala Ali is made.
16. Blade II (2002)

In 2002 Wesley Snipes reprised his role as Blade for the sequel. David S. Goyer wrote the script again but it's directed by Guillermo del Toro. Set two years after the first movie he forms an unlikely alliance with vampire leader Damaskinos (Thomas Kretschmann) and a group of vampires. They are forced to join together after a group of 'Reapers', a mutation of vampires, that threaten to eradicate both humans and vampires from the planet. Snipes joins an elite group of vampire commandos known as "Bloodpack"
The blood-soaked sequel Blade II is currently on Hulu. It's unlikely that Disney+ will share the movie on its platform. Wesley Snipes will have to stay on Hulu for now.
17. Blade: Trinity (2004)

Blade: Trinity is the third movie in the franchise and the first directed and written by David S. Goyer. Blade finds himself hunted by the FBI after vampires have framed him for a series of grisly murders. Agent Cumberland (James Remar) is on his tracks and closing fast. Meanwhile, the vampires have returned Dracula (Dominic Purcell) back from the dead (undead?) and given him the ability to walk in daylight unharmed. After he's rescued from the FBI Blade and Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) form an alliance with a group of vampire hunters known as Nighstalkers. Hannibal King (Ryan Reynolds), and Whistler's daughter, Abigail (Jessica Biel) are fighting the vampires. Sommerfield (Natasha Lyonne) their biologist is working on a scientific answer to the vampire problem. Danica Talos (Parker Posey), Asher (Callum Keith Rennie), and Grimwood (Triple H) fight alongside Drake, Dracula's new name, to rid the world of humans and vampires.
Like Blade and Blade II, Blade: Trinity is on Disney's newly acquired streaming platform Hulu. It'll probably stay there as long as Disney+ has a "no R-rated movie" policy.
18. Captain America (1990)
In 1990, after the success of Batman Marvel set out to make a superhero movie about Captain America directed by Albert Pyun. The low budget movie follows the basic idea of Steve Rogers / Captain America (Matt Salinger) being a subject of an experiment to become a super soldier and getting frozen in ice after fighting The Red Skull (Scott Paulin). After he's unfrozen the story diverges wildly. He's unfrozen to save the President of the United States and discovers his old nemesis has had plastic surgery to look like a burnt-up weenie and become the head of a crime family.
The movie is so bad they scuttled plans to release it theatrically in the states. It had a limited theatrical release in Europe and was sent it straight to home video. While the first Captain America movie is owned by Marvel they would probably prefer it never sees the light of day again.
19. Daredevil (2003)
Mark Steven Johnson's Daredevil is Ben Affleck's first superhero role. The 2003 movie is based on the blind Marvel comic book superhero. Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck) fights crime in the courtroom during the day and fights for justice at night as the costumed vigilante. But his life is turned upside down when he meets Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner) and gets close to busting the New York crime lord Wilson Fisk (Michael Clarke Duncan) who's also known as Kingpin. The movie is considered a flop but has a cult following.
When Netflix picked up the live-action rights to Daredevil they signed a contract that means Marvel can’t develop a live-action movie about the character. But the Walt Disney Company bought out 20th Century Fox and owns the movie. So why isn’t Daredevil on Disney+? Probably because they don’t want people getting confused when the MCU movie comes out.

Rob Bowman directed Elektra. The 2005 spin-off from the 2003 film Daredevil. It stars Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios a contract killer for a mysterious ninja organization known as "The Hand". She's sent to kill a man and his daughter but ends up protecting them from the Hand herself.
Elektra recently appeared in the Netflix series Daredevil as well so Marvel does have rights. After Netflix canceled the series Marvel confirmed they have plans to bring the characters back in some form. So perhaps they don’t want to muddy the waters with the box office bomb that is Elektra.

In the 1990s Neue Constantin film company produced a low-budget movie based on the long-running superhero team The Fantastic Four. The goal was to keep the rights from reverting back to Marvel but without spending too much money. The movie follows Dr. Reed Richards (Alex Hyde-White), Johnny Storm (Jay Underwood), Susan Storm (Rebecca Staab), and Ben Grimm (Michael Bailey Smith) who are given amazing powers after an accident in space. The team turns into superheroes to fight the evil Dr. Doom from destroying New York City.
Is The Fantastic Four (1994) on Disney+? Not a chance. Besides the cult following behind the movie, there's no way Marvel would want to be associated with this clunker. It was never released in theaters and will probably never see the light of day if Disney has anything to say about it.

The long-running superhero team Fantastic Four has had a number of live-action films with dubious levels of success. The first big-budget movie about the group is the 2005 movie directed by Tim Story. Sometimes called Fantastic Four the movie is about a group of astronauts led by the brilliant scientist Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd). The group gets caught in an outer space anomaly and he along with Susan Storm (Jessica Alba), Johnny Storm (Chris Evans), Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis), and Victor Von Doom (Julian McMahon) are given fantastical powers. Calling themselves Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Girl, and The Thing they fight to stop Doctor Doom from exacting revenge on them.
The movie got mixed reviews but was a success at the box office. It was produced by Fox but Disney bought the company and now owns the movie. Marvel has the rights to produce a live-action Fantastic Four movie and announced plans to do that. So Disney may have decided it's not worth diluting the brand with the lackluster film for now. It's streaming on it's Hulu platform. Also, Starz has exclusive first-run film licensing agreements with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures since 1994 and it's streaming on the network's platform.

The first Fantastic Four did well enough so the studio green-lit a sequel. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (titled Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer on the DVD/Blu-ray release) is a 2007 superhero with Tim Story returning as director. Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm all return. In the sequel a mysterious creature named Silver Surfer coming to Earth to protect it from the cosmic entity trying to consume our world named Galactus.
The cast for Fantastic Four originally signed a three-picture deal but the disappointing box office and poor reviews scuttled the plans. Marvel now owns the rights to the Fantastic Four and could release it on Disney Plus+ but decided not to release it for now.

Josh Trank's reboot of Fantastic Four dropped and sank like a stone in 2015. The movie follows Reed Richards (Miles Teller), his best friend Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell), Sue Storm (Kate Mara), her brother Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan), and Victor Von Doom (Toby Kebbell). The three travel to an alternate dimension. While there and accident infused the five with fantastical powers. Sometime later the four are reunited to help combat the threat of Doom.
This is the third and final film based on the superhero team. Marvel announced they’re working on another Fantastic Four movie so assume they’re keeping it off Disney+ for the same reason as the other movies. They do have a bunch of animated series Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes (2006) and the 1994 cartoon series Fantastic Four.
25. Howard the Duck (1986)

Directed by Willard Huyck Howard the Duck is about a duck from a dimension of anthropomorphic ducks pulled into our world due to the experiments of Jeffrey Jones. Jones is transformed into an Evil Dark Lord and plans to bring other Dark Lords to conquer our world. Howard teams up with Lea Thompson and Tim Robbins to defeat him.
Marvel dominates the movie industry now but it didn’t start that way. Back in 1986 Marvel hadn’t had a live-action theatrical adaptation of their characters since the Captain America serials of the 1940s. Then came Howard the Duck. The movie is considered a flop and savaged by critics so Disney probably isn’t in a rush to release it. But he has a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy which is on Disney+. Otherwise, it’s on Starz.
26. The Punisher (1989)

In 1989 Marvel created a live-action movie based on the violent antihero Punisher. The Punisher stars Dolph Lundgren as ex-police officer Frank Castle. After his family is violently killed in a mob hit he goes on a one-man war on crime. He learns several children are kidnapped. The Punisher sets out to track them down and enact violent vengeance on the kidnappers.
Is The Punisher on Disney+? No. The movie is rated R for a reason. In fact, when it was submitted to the MPAA they rated it X (no one under 17 admitted) until the studio cut some of the gun violence. So it's unlikely Disney would stream it. Plus, the first live-action appearance of the Punisher was a flop at the box office. Considering Marvel’s current refusal to stream movies rated R it’s unlikely Mark Goldblatt's movie will make it to the streaming network.

More than a decade after the first live-action Punisher movie the studio tried to reboot the franchise. In 2004 Thomas Jane plays Frank Castle in the reboot of the Marvel antihero. Castle faces off against Howard Saint (John Travolta), a money launderer who orders the death of Castle's family. This sends him in a bloody search for revenge.
Is The Punisher (2004) on Disney+? No. The movie did well enough but not well enough to push Marvel to bring the movie’s hard R rating to the streaming platform.
28. Punisher: War Zone (2008)

The third Punisher movie is actually another reboot. This time the vigilante Frank Castle is played by Ray Stevenson who later joins the MCU as Thor's friend Volstagg. The movie follows Castle in a war against the crime boss Billy "Jigsaw" Russotti (Dominic West). Punisher: War Zone is the first to be produced under the Marvel Entertainment Banner. But it was shipped to the Marvel Knights division geared for mature audiences.
Is Punisher: War Zone on Disney+? No. That mature audience rating is why it probably won't see the light of day on Disney+. Currently, Marvel hasn't announced plans to produce a Punisher movie but that's because the license deal with Netflix prevents them from making a movie or TV show till 2020. So we'll see if it drops before or after the MCU version of Punisher.
29. X-Men (2000)
In 2000 Bryan Singer directed the first live-action theatrical movie based on the comic book team known as the X-Men. The movie follows Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Rogue (Anna Paquin) who are pursued by an evil group of mutants led by Magneto (Ian McKellen). Mutants are a small group of people who are born with amazing abilities. They’re protected by Professor Xavier who runs the school for gifted youngsters that train mutants. Xavier’s team, called X-Men.
Is X-Men (2000) on Disney+? Nope. When Disney bought Fox they also bought the rights to the X-men movies. So Marvel owns the Fox movies and put them on Disney Plus. But they're undoubtedly working on an MCU version of the Xmen so they probably want to avoid confusing consumers.

The sequel to Bryan Singer's X-Men is named X2 and often promoted as X2: X-Men United.
The plot is inspired by the graphic novel "God Loves, Man Kills". Colonel William Stryker (Brian Cox) leads an assault on Professor Xavier's school and build his own version of the mutant-tracking computer Cerebro. Along with a mind-controlling mutant he plans to destroy every mutant on Earth and "save" the human race. The team has to join forces with
the Brotherhood of Mutants to stop Stryker.
Is X2 on Disney Plus? None of the Fox X-Men movies are on Disney+. But there are three animated series on the streaming platform. The 1990s X-Men, 2000s X-Men Evolution, and 2008s Wolverine and the X-Men.

In 2006 X-Men: The Last Stand hit theaters. It's the sequel to X2and the third X-Men movie in the series. Director Bryan Singer stepped away from the director's chair this time and Brett Ratner took his place. The film's screenplay is loosely based on two fan-favorite X-Men comic book story arcs: "The Dark Phoenix Saga" by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, and "Gifted" by Joss Whedon and John Cassaday. The movie brings back the X-Men Logan / Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Ororo Munroe / Storm (Halle Berry), Charles Xavier / Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Marie / Rogue (Anna Paquin), Scott Summers / Cyclops (James Marsden), Bobby Drake / Iceman (Shawn Ashmore). It also introduces Kitty Pryde / Shadowcat (Ellen Page) and Peter Rasputin / Colossus (Daniel Cudmore). X-Men: The Last Stand tells the story of a mutant cure that's introduced and promises to solve the "mutant problem" but causes friction among the mutant population. Jean Grey / Phoenix (Famke Janssen) apparently returns from the dead and joins Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto (Ian McKellen), Raven Darkholme / Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), John Allerdyce / Pyro (Aaron Stanford), Cain Marko / Juggernaut (Vinnie Jones) along with the other members of the Brotherhood of Mutants fighting the release of the cure.
Is X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) on Disney+? No. Like the other X-Men movies, the rights are owned by Fox which is now owned by Disney. But it is available to stream right now on Fubo.
32. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
In 2009 the studio decided to spinoff their most popular X-Men character Wolverine into his own movie. The fourth movie in the Marvel mutant superheroes is directed by Gavin Hood. It follows mutant James Howlett (Hugh Jackman) and his sadistic half-brother Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber). Over decades their brotherly affection turns to bitter rivalry. Early encounters with Team X eventually lead him to go through the adamantium bonding procedure that makes him Wolverine.
Disney+ is marketed as a kid-friendly service. Walt Disney has said they have no plans to stream movies rated R (or restricted) by the MPAA. So X-Men Origins: Wolverine may never show up in Disney Plus. But Disney could move it to Hulu in the future. If you can't wait then get yourself a subscription to FuboTV

Is The Wolverine (2013) on Disney+? Not now. The X-Men rights are back with Marvel thanks to the purchase of Fox Studios. But the movie is rated R and doesn't fit in with Disney+ playlist. Plus, when Marvel Studios reboots Wolverine they're not going to want comparisons to Hugh Jackman.

2017 brought the ninth installment in the X-Men franchise. Bryan Singer returns to direct the sequel to Days of Future Past. In the movie, the ancient all-powerful mutant En Sabah Nur / Apocalypse is awoken from his tomb in 1983. Deciding humanity is corrupt he plans to wipe out modern civilization and rebuild the world in his image. the X-Men band together to try and stop him and his team of mutants.
The X Men movie should have been epic but tanked at the box office. So Marvel isn’t too excited about releasing it. While the movie is steaming in some international markets it hasn’t made it to the US yet.

Is Logan (2017) on Disney+? No. In fact, it may never be on Disney+. The movies are owned by Disney but Logan is a hard R. That means blood and guts splattered everywhere. It's hard to imagine the movie making it into the library but they might send it to Hulu. For now, you can watch it on FXNow, DIRECTV or FuboTV.

Fox produced a series of twelve X-Men movies but this is the last one that was made before the sale to Disney. The movie flopped hard. Marvel Studios announced they’re rebooting the franchise. There's no point in putting these movies on Disney+. But you can watch the animated television series. Frankly, the five-episode "The Dark Phoenix" Saga from 1994 is 1,000,000 times better anyway.
Hopefully, all of the Marvel movies will be on Disney+ soon. Just like the Marvel characters are slowly being pulled under Marvel Studios. But only time will tell when we'll be able to watch a Marvel movie marathon on Disney+. We may want to skip over Captain America but it'd be nice to have the option.
