Find out every actor coming back from the Star Wars and Marvel Studios movies for Disney+. Disney recently released the schedule for the upcoming streaming service and clarified some details about the upcoming shows. Named Disney Plus the service officially launches in the US, Canada, and the Netherlands on November 12, 2019. The service will be available in Australia and New Zealand on Nov. 19. The streaming will support Apple, Google, Microsoft, Roku, and Sony but, so far, not Amazon.
Paul Bettany first played Tony Stark's A.I. program named J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) in "Iron Man" (2008). Bettany's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was just a disembodied voice. That changed in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" when he was uploaded to an organic synthetic body composed of Vibranium. The Mind Stone on his forehead gave him life and powers.
Calling himself Vision he became a superhero fighting alongside Tony Stark and the rest of the Avengers. He fell in love with Wanda Maximoff and the two tried to build a life together. But Thanos wanted the Mind Stone and chased them to Wakanda. Wanda tried to destroy the stone but Thanos ripped it from Vision's forehead and left the lifeless body on the ground.
The new live-action series coming from Disney is titled WandaVision and is expected to open in fall of 2021. But how can Vision come back after dying? "Last I knew, I died," Bettany joked at Comic-Con. "So I have no idea what's going on." Presumably, he'll be brought back to life in some way. That way is by Wanda.
Elizabeth Olsen plays the mind-warping Wanda Maximoff known as Scarlet Witch. She first appears in Avengers (2012) as one of two enhanced individuals along with his speedster brother Quicksilver. He appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and was last seen in Avengers: Endgame. She mourned the loss of Vision but appeared to have hope he and Black Widow are alive somehow. When Hawkeye says he wished there was a way to tell her they'd won she said, "She knows. They both do."
While details are sparse the show is reportedly going to be based around Tom King's run on the Vision comic book from 2015. "The Vision" follows the android's attempt to build the perfect nuclear family. He makes a wife Virginia and teen twins Viv and Vin. There's also a 2005 run in the comics where Wanda goes insane over the loss of her children and warps reality.
Both of these storylines revolve around the Vision and Scarlet Witch creating a family. That appears to be the overall theme of the show. "We’re gonna get weird, we’re gonna go deep, we’re gonna have lots of surprises, and we’re gonna finally understand Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch," Elizabeth Olsen told the audience at Comic-Com 2019.
WandaVision was confirmed for a spring 2021 release on Disney+ while Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to be released on May 21, 2021. Wanda and Vision's show is coming very close to Doctor Strange 2. It's confirmed Olsen has a role in the film. Presumably, the Doctor Strange sequel will touch on the storyline of the Disney+ show.
"WandaVision", which sees Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their roles as Scarlet Witch and Vision, is expected to run six-episodes.
Anthony Mackie first played Sam Wilson aka Falcon in Captain America: Civil War as a former paratrooper with an experimental flight suit. Since then he's been Steve Roger's (Chris Evans) right-hand man. In Avengers: Endgame he was given the shield and becomes the new Captain America.
"Growing up, I’d always loved Falcon, because he was a comic-book hero who was black who didn’t have ‘Black’ in the title," he told GQ magazine. "He stood on his morals. He stood on who he was."
The new live-action series title The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has him returning to the role and pairing him with fellow MCU actor Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier. So what will he be named? Will he still go by Falcon or will be called Captain America? Not even Anthony Mackie knows what he'll be called. "I’m guessing I’m Fal-Cap, or . . . I don’t know," he says. "I haven’t even seen a script."
A big part of the show will be the world adjusting to a new man taking over the mantle of Captain America. "To take that over, to be a part of that, the legacy of that, is a huge challenge," Mackie told Cinemablend. "It’s something where a lot of people are going to expect me to be Chris Evans in the same suit, but a black dude. And that’s definitely not gonna happen."
Sebastian Stan first played Bucky Barnes in the MCU for Captain America: The First Avenger. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier he returns as the brain-washed Russian assassin known as The Winter Soldier. In Avengers: Infinity War he makes his return as a hero after Shuri removes the Russian programming and leaves him whole again.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been described as a "buddy cop show". In the movies, the two frequently spar verbally with Bucky taking potshots at him while Sam refuses to move his car seat. The show plans to continue that dynamic with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes acting as a mismatched pair seeking justice.
Stan promises the show will allow his character to grow. "I think it’s time for Bucky to go out there and have an identity outside of the circumstances that we’ve met him through,” Stan told attendees at the Jibland Convention 2019 in Rome. "So, I don’t know, he might do all kinds of things. He might even go on a date. I don’t know. Scary world out there, you know? Apps, things like that. I don’t know what he’s gonna do. I can’t see him on an iPhone… I think it’s gonna be a lot of dealing with Anthony’s character."
Emily VanCamp plays Agent Sharon Carter aka Agent 13 in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. She's an agent who works undercover as the neighbor of Steve Rogers before revealing she was working with S.H.I.E.L.D.
It was also revealed that she's the great-niece of S.H.I.E.L.D. founder Peggy Carter. After HYDRA was defeated she joined the CIA. Then she was stationed in the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre. She disappeared in the "Snap" and was brought back by Bruce Banner.
The six-part limited series is being written by Malcolm Spellman (Empire) and directed by Kari Skogland (The Handmaid’s Tale). It's set after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Tom Hiddleston first played the god of mischief Loki in Thor (2011). He returned as the evil leader of an alien invasion in Avengers (2012). Since then, the character's been so popular he became a hero in Thor: Ragnarok. But to the horror of fans, at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War Thanos snapped his neck. But in Avengers: Endgame, during the "time heist", Loki picks up the Tesseract and uses it to teleport away.
One question that has been asked by fans since the television series was announced for Disney Plus: Which Loki is the Disney+ show going to focus on?
It was confirmed that the "Evil" Loki from an alternate timeline will be the focus. "I feel like I know him, I’ve been playing him for 10 years now, and that’s crazy to me," Hiddleston said in an interview with MTV News. "By the time it’s out, I’ll be 40. When I was cast I was 29, which is a great chunk of my life. Playing him, and playing him truthfully, but presenting him with new challenges which then have to change him in different ways is the most exciting aspect of it. You have his specific gifts, his intelligence, his treachery, his mischief, his magic, and then seeing him come up against more formidable opponents the like of which he has never seen or known."
Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, will consist of six episodes and premiere in Spring of 2021. Rick & Morty writer Michael Waldron has been set as the showrunner for the series.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) introduces us to the short-lived character of Cassian Andor played by Diego Luna. Captain Cassian Jeron Andor was a pilot, intelligence officer for the Rebel Alliance. He's also the leader of the rebel unit Rogue One. He died along with the other members of the Rebel Alliance at the end of the film. That was always disappointing to the actor. "When I saw the film the first time, I was so disappointed at the end,” Luna admitted. “And not because of the film."
Luna was disappointed at the lost opportunities the character had. "My son said, ‘But that's it, Dad. Right? That's it,'" the actor recounted his conversation with his eight-year-old after the screening. "And I go, 'Well, yes. That's the thing about this film.' Even though I knew, and I understood, I think that's the moment where I really got it. I really realized that a character I loved, and a universe I couldn't care more about [was done]. But the tone of our film, it pays honor to, I believe, the best times of this universe. And obviously, I say the best because it's when I was open and ready to receive that. Those [Star Wars] films left a very deep mark on me, as [the] audience, and as a filmmaker."
Now he gets the chance to play Andors again as he stars in the upcoming Disney+ series.
"[TV is] where you have time to develop, to see characters and do stuff that film won't allow us," Luna said. "And, I think the proximity, sometimes, with the audience becomes so much more profound; the connection."
The studio hasn't announced a title or release date but the untitled Cassian Andor Series, starring Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk has no official launch date but is expected to be released in year two of Disney+ 2021.
Jeremy Renner plays the master archer Clint Barton aka Hawkeye in the MCU. He first popped up in a cameo for Thor. Since then he’s become a major Avengers player. When we last saw him in Endgame he’d recovered his family and stopped being a bloodthirsty vigilante.
Besides Hawkeye, Renner is also known for his Oscar-nominated roles in "The Hurt Locker" and "The Town" as well as movies like "American Hustle," "Arrival," and "Wind River."
The plot of the Hawkeye show revolves around him training a young woman named Kate Bishop to be the new Hawkeye. In the comics, Kate Bishop first appears in {comic} by {creator}. She’s a {bio}.
Renner has expressed frustration over his character many times over the years. First, he was unhappy with his role in Avengers saying {quote}. Then he was upset that the solo movie Marvel promised hadn’t happened yet. Now he seems happy with the upcoming show which will put the focus on him and away from some of the more star-studded characters like Iron Man or Captain America.
"I get to teach someone else how to be a superhero without superpowers," Renner joked at Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Renner emphasized that the message of the series is that anyone can be a hero.
Hawkeye, starring Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, is scheduled to air in the fall of 2021.

Daniel Brühl plays Baron Helmut Zemo in Captain America: Civil War as the machiavellian supervillain working to destroy the Avengers from within. He's a former Colonel with the Sokovian Armed Forces and the former commander of EKO Scorpion. After the Battle of Sokovia he loses his family and vows revenge. At the end of the film, he's arrested by Black Panther and turned over to the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre. When we last see him he's in detention saying that his plans didn't fail because the Avengers are still broken.
"I can’t imagine what you all must be thinking," Bruhl said in footage for the show released at Comic-Con. "A villain seizes control of the panel and you expect me to threaten some unspeakable act of violence. I simply wanted to say hello to some old friends. Gentlemen, I’ll be seeing you very soon."
He also shared a photo on social media that hints he'll be wearing Baron Zemo's signature hood.

9. Alan Tudyk as K-2SO in Untitled Cassian Andor Series (2021)
Alan Tudyk played the former Imperial droid K-2SO in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". He did voice work and motion capture for the film. K-2SO was dry and snarky and he quickly became a fan favorite. Fans were heartbroken when he died at the end sacrificing himself for the Rebels.
Part of what made Tudyk's performance so great was his improvised moments with Diego Luna and those are coming back. "That dynamic with Alan was so special, and it's going to be fun to keep playing," Luna teased.
Disney confirmed the series will be a prequel for the movie and "follows the adventures of rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion". The studio also describes the series as a "rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire".
